Interesting Times for Me

Things conspire against (or with) me and my obsession with color grows. To the point that I now want to make things with it. So, here are sketches from, dare I say, an incipient painter. Things are screaming at me from inside and outside: the hounds of hell are indeed after me.

  1. These postings are rather like Arthur Dove's work. Fine company indeed! Keep on

I don't know who you are (and that is your intention) but I do thank you for your comment. Though I'm fairly well-versed in art history, I'd not heard of Arthur Dove. The 4 images that came up when I typed his name into google made me blink!
Again, I thank you for expanding my horizon and for bothering to do it.

  3. Clair,
I'm a pastel artist, living in Middlesex, doing art in an early American Modernist style. You can see my work at http://web.mac.com/jayneshoup I check the blogs posted through Vermont Artzine--to keep track of what others are up to and am bolstered by the energy and enthusiasm of other artists here in Vermont, despite long winters and this very long mud season. The Metropolitan has a large collection of Dove, and there are quite a few at Boston. Also check the Phillips Collection in DC. Cheers, Jayne Shoup
